Introducing ArcGIS Updated User Types

ArcGIS user types are transforming to role-based user types to further consolidate multiple products, apps, extensions, and add-ons that have become cumbersome to manage as individual products with separate pricing and licensing and ensure access that scales as your organization grows. What’s next?

In June 2024, updated user types for ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise will be available for purchase. The updated user types will be available in ArcGIS Online with the June 2024 update and in ArcGIS Enterprise upon upgrading to version 11.4, available in November 2024. The update will be reflected in the corresponding release since ArcGIS Pro can be administered via ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.

These updates will simplify administration, provide flexible licensing options for your organization, and offer even greater value for ArcGIS. They will be beneficial to all users of ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, including those who license ArcGIS Pro through a GIS Professional user type.
