Electrical Assets Management

Asset management is a concept that has been in both the private and public sectors with a vast number of interpretations. In the context of an electricity distribution utility, asset management can be defined as a systematic process of cost-effective, operating, maintaining, and upgrading electrical assets by combining engineering practices and economic analysis with sound business practices.

Any given electrical distribution network is made up of the primary and secondary plants, hence, these assets too can be classified as either primary or secondary plant assets.

The rapid rates of technology developments, as well as technology integration, have continued to pose challenges to asset management in the global electrical power sector.

This project entails a powerful configuration of the ArcGIS Dashboard in which widgets were used to show indicators for both human resources and assets. Similarly, customer facilities, teammates, and issues are all summarized on the dashboard.

When a customer reports an issue about a power outage or any other problem in their neighborhood, the status of these issues is managed on this application.

This makes it easy for someone looking at the dashboard to know which issues have been reported, under review, assigned, or resolved.

This workforce project is used to assign tasks to teammates. Configured tasks include the installation of new electrical assets, maintenance, repair, or replacement of facilities.
